About

My name is Stefan Gries, born ’90, and I am a computer scientist with heart and soul. Aftermy Applied Computer Science M. Sc. studies, I am working as a research assistant at the University of Duisburg-Essen. I have been involved in various research and industrial projects as well as university teaching. In addition to my studies, I have already developed professional software for productive use, the focus being in particular on web applications.

Currently, my focus is on three subject complexes:

  • Research: Cyber-Physical Systems
I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the CPS area. In this context, I particularly look at the field of maintainability of emergent, heterogeneous and distributed systems. I have already published some presentations and publications .
  • Industrial Projects: Webapplications and Software
I have been developing web applications for quite a while, especially complex systems that go beyond PHP. Especially ASP.NET / C # and Java in all its manifestations are my strength.
  • Teaching: Mobile Software Engineering
In addition to the master projects of the course “Applied Computer Science” at the University, I am a lecturer in the lecture “Mobile Software Engineering”. In doing so, I take part in parts of the lecture, as well as the tutorial.

In addition to my job, I also have a private passion for software development, particularly in mobile app development, as well as other projects. I am an enthusiastic hobby photographer with the focus on NRW, Ruhr area and landscape.
